ENGLISH
Alfredo and Ana’s story is no different from that of many believers in the American Dream. In 1988, Alfredo arrived in the United States as a teenager, determined to pursue his dreams. A year later, in 1989, Ana also made the courageous journey from El Salvador, seeking a better life. Both were fleeing the civil war in their homelands, seeking safety, opportunity, and hope. With clear goals and unwavering determination, they each set out to build a future in the United States.
Ana spent her early twenties in Los Angeles, California, working as a housekeeper and nanny. Meanwhile, Alfredo began his culinary journey in the nation’s capital, working as a line cook at a Mexican restaurant in downtown Washington, D.C. After a few years in the country, Ana moved to Maryland to continue building her future. Like many hardworking Americans, Alfredo searched for a second job to make ends meet.
In 1992, fate brought them together at Montgomery Donuts, a beloved staple in the Maryland community. It was there that Alfredo and Ana’s love story began. From that moment on, they shared a dream: to one day become restaurant owners.
Over the years, Alfredo rose through the culinary ranks, line cook, grill master, sous chef, and eventually executive chef, working in several restaurants and mastering new techniques and bold flavors. Ana transitioned from housekeeping to baking and later started her own home cleaning business, demonstrating her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication.
Through love, passion, discipline, and perseverance, they eventually moved to Texas, where their long held dream finally came true. Together, Alfredo and Ana opened their restaurant, lovingly naming it Anita’s, a term of endearment inspired by Ana’s name.
Their delicious, bold flavors, infused with an East Coast twist, have been perfected over the years to ensure every guest leaves with a full belly and a smile. At Anita’s, it is part of our culture to make you feel at home from the moment you walk through our doors and sit down to enjoy your favorite dish.

La historia de Alfredo y Ana no es diferente a la de muchos creyentes en el sueño americano. En 1988, Alfredo llegó de El Salvador siendo un adolescente, decidido a perseguir sus sueños. Un año después, en 1989, Ana también hizo el valiente viaje desde El Salvador en busca de una vida mejor. Ambos huían de la guerra civil en su tierra natal, en busca de seguridad, oportunidades y esperanza. Con objetivos claros y una determinación inquebrantable, cada uno de ellos se propuso construir un futuro en los Estados Unidos.
Ana pasó sus veintitantos años en Los Ángeles, California, trabajando como ama de llaves y niñera. Mientras tanto, Alfredo comenzó su viaje culinario en la capital del país, trabajando como cocinero en un restaurante mexicano en el centro de Washington D.C. Luego de unos años en el país, Ana se mudó a Maryland para seguir construyendo su futuro. Como muchos trabajadores estadounidenses, Alfredo buscó un segundo trabajo para llegar a fin de mes.
En 1992, el destino los unió en Montgomery Donuts, un alimento básico querido en la comunidad de Maryland. Fue allí donde comenzó la historia de amor de Alfredo y Ana. A partir de ese momento, compartieron un sueño: algún día convertirse en dueños de un restaurante.
A lo largo de los años, Alfredo ascendió en los rangos culinarios (cocinero de línea, maestro de parrilla, sous chef y, finalmente, chef ejecutivo), trabajando en varios restaurantes y dominando nuevas técnicas y sabores atrevidos. Ana pasó de ser empleada doméstica a hornear y luego comenzó su propio negocio de limpieza del hogar, demostrando su espíritu emprendedor y su dedicación.
A través del amor, la pasión, la disciplina y la perseverancia, finalmente se mudaron a Texas, donde su sueño anhelado desde hacía tanto tiempo se hizo realidad. Juntos, Alfredo y Ana abrieron su restaurante, al que cariñosamente llamaron Anita’s, un término cariñoso inspirado en el nombre de Ana. Sus sabores deliciosos y atrevidos, con un toque de la costa este, se han perfeccionado a lo largo de los años para garantizar que cada huésped se vaya con el estómago lleno y una sonrisa.
